# Available Yield Sources

A Yield Source is an underlying type of RWA and DeFi yield generation strategy available through Sierra. All available Yield Sources have already completed the underwriting process by Sierra's [Advisory Council](/building-with-sierra/advisory-council.md). Any new Yield Source that becomes available through Sierra must complete underwriting by the Advisory Council before any Vaults or LVTs may allocate to it.

Each Vault or LVT allocates to a subset of available Yield Sources based on its respective [Reserve Management Strategy](/building-with-sierra/reserve-management-strategy.md). Some Yield Sources available are not suitable for a Vault or LVT and so the corresponding reserve assets of that Vault or LVT cannot be allocated to those unsuitable yield source. For example, a Vault that aims to have a lower risk profile may not allocate to a yield source like uncollateralized lending due to Credit Risk or 30 year corporate bonds do to Duration Risk.

Here is a comprehensive list of all Yield Sources currently available:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.sierra.money/building-with-sierra/available-yield-sources.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
